Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser was appointed Ambassador of Qatar to the United Nations on September 11, 1998.
Prior to his current assignment, Al-Nasser had served as his country's Ambassador to Jordan since 1993. From 1986 to 1993, Mr. Al-Nasser had his first posting to Qatar's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, where he worked as minister to the Mission. Al-Nasser joined his country's foreign service in 1972 as Attache at the Embassy of Qatar in Beirut. During his posting in Lebanon, which lasted until 1974, he was a member of his government's delegation to high-level meetings of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
In 1975, Al-Nasser was assigned to Qatar's Embassy in Pakistan and, from late 1975 to 1981, he was General Counsellor at Qatar's Embassy in Dhubai. From 1981 to 1985, he served with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Doha.
Al-Nasser holds a degree in law from Beirut Arab University and has attended numerous specialized and professional seminars.
Al-Nasser was born in September 1952.
