Every year, tens of thousands of Jews travel there to celebrate Rosh Hashanah and visit the Rebbe’s grave. The annual flow of visitors helps brings this poor post-communist city back to life, but the ghosts of Ukrainian nationalism and religious intolerance are revived as well.(Ukrainian, Hebrew, Russian and Yiddish).
