His Excellency Kodjo Menan

Kodjo Menan was appointed Ambassador of Togo to the United Nations on June 25, 2009.

Menan held the post of Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration from May 2007 to April 2009. From December 2002 to May 2007, he was Chargé d’Affaires, ad interim, at the Permanent Mission of Togo to the United Nations in New York. His first posting to New York was from 1997 to 2002, during which time he was in charge of political and legal matters, serving variously as First Secretary, Second Counsellor, First Counsellor and Minister Counsellor.

Between 1994 and 1997, Menan was Officer in Charge of Political and Legal Affairs in the Division of Agreements and Treaties of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. He was in charge of State Protocol and Consular Matters in the Protocol Division between 1991 and 1994. He was Administrative Secretary at the Bar Association to the Court of Appeal of Lomé, from 1990 to 1991.

Menan earned a post-graduate degree in diplomacy from the National Administration School of Lomé and a master’s degree in law from the University of Benin (now University of Lomé) in 1983.

 He was on December 31, 1959 in Vogan, Togo, he is married and has two daughters.
