Thank you for your well-done and supportive article, “From Star Trek to Springsteen, Colleges Go Where No School’s Gone Before” (January 2012 issue). Your point must be more wildly distributed: These pop culture-involved courses are neither inherently better nor inferior to all traditional courses. They must be judged via an evaluation of each course on its own and not automatically dismissed as frivolous. I doubt your piece will convince all on this matter but it does move the flag along.
