Heide B. Fulton assumed duties as Chargé d’Affaires a.i. in Tegucigalpa, Honduras in June 2017 and she arrived to Honduras in September 2016 to assume duties as Deputy Chief of Mission. A public diplomacy-coned officer, Mrs. Fulton most recently led the counternarcotics team in the Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement at Embassy Kabul, Afghanistan. Since joining the U.S. Information Agency in 1998, Mrs. Fulton has served overseas as Counselor for Public Affairs in Quito; Public Affairs Officer in Phnom Penh; and Vice Consul and Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer in Manila. Her Washington assignments include Director of the Main Press Office, Pearson Fellow in the Office of Senator Robert Menendez, Press Advisor for the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, and Special Assistant to Under Secretary for Political Affairs R. Nicholas Burns.
