Leyla Moses-Ones began her diplomatic career as a Foreign Service Officer with the Department of State in July 2001. Since then, she has served in the positions of: consular officer in San Jose, Costa Rica; political officer in Maputo, Mozambique; Watch Officer at the Operations Center; Deputy Principal Officer in Adana, Turkey; Public Affairs Officer in Munich, Germany; and Deputy Director of the Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs’ Office of Policy and Global Issues (EUR/PGI) in Washington, D.C. In addition, prior to joining EUR/PGI in 2015, Leyla was a distinguished graduate of the National Defense University, earning a Master’s Degree in National Security and Defense Resource Strategy. She arrived in Tirana in August 2018 to begin a three-year assignment as Deputy Chief of Mission.
