Mansour Ayyad Al-Otaibi was appointed Ambassador of Kuwait to the United Nations on March 4, 2010.
From 2007 until his appointment Al-Otaibi was Minister Plenipotentiary and Director of the International Organizations Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Al-Otaibi held various positions at the Permanent Mission in New York between 1992 and 2006, including Counsellor and Deputy Permanent Representative (2004-2006); First Secretary (2001-2003); Second Secretary (1996-2001); Third Secretary (1993-1996); and Diplomatic Attaché (1992-1993).
Before joining the Mission he was Diplomatic Attaché at his country’s Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 1990 to 199; having served in the same capacity in the Foreign Ministry’s Arab World Department until 1990. He joined Kuwait’s diplomatic service in November 1989.
Al-Otaibi holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and administration from Kuwait University.
He was born in Kuwait on 9 December 1966, is married and has three children.
