A career member of the U.S. Foreign Service, Jenifer Moore began her tenure as the Charge d’Affaires en pied at U.S. Embassy Minsk, Belarus, in August 2018. Before arriving in Minsk, she was Deputy Director of the State Department’s Office of Southern European Affairs, responsible for U.S. relations with Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus. Ms. Moore has extensive European experience with much of her career having focused on international security cooperation and security sector reform.

She previously served as Deputy Director of the State Department’s Office of Peacekeeping, Sanctions, and Counterterrorism, Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy Tirana, and in political, political-military, and economic positions in U.S. Embassies Ankara, Sarajevo, Baghdad, and Jakarta. Additionally, Ms. Moore worked as a Watch Officer in the State Department’s Operations Center and as Staff Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Political-Military Affairs.

Ms. Moore is the recipient of multiple State Department Superior Honor and Meritorious Honor Awards. She has studied Russian, Turkish, Serbo-Croatian, Albanian, and Bahasa Indonesia. A native Georgian, Ms. Moore holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in International Affairs and a Master of Science degree in Public Policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
