IFE sends off Estonia’s Kristjan Prikk
The Institute for Education and Coach Kathy Kemper hosted a farewell gathering for Estonian Ambassador Kristjan Prikk and his wife, Liis, at Congressional Country Club on June 6.
The event, “Diplomacy Served with a Side of Pickleball,” featured a round of the friendly game, a walk to The Great Lawn, lunch and a toast with the Club’s signature drink, Seabreezes.
Several of Prikk’s diplomatic colleagues were in attendance, including EU Ambassador Jovita Neliupšienė, Portuguese Ambassador Francisco Duarte Lopes, Austrian Ambassador Petra Schneebauer and Icelandic Ambassador Svanhildur Hólm Valsdóttir.
Ambassador Prikk and his wife are leaving Washington for their next post in Brussels, where he will serve as Estonia’s envoy to NATO.

EU hosts State of the Arts Night
Fifteen visual artists, musicians and filmmakers from across the globe gathered at EatonDC for the EU Delegation’s annual State of the Arts Night on June 6. The event celebrated the works of these artists who have collaborated with their American counterparts and displayed their creations across the U.S. as part of the Delegation’s Transatlantic Rising Stars Project.
In a choose-your-own-adventure style event, guests selected from a range of artistic activities to attend, including musical performances, art gallery talks, panel discussions and a European street market featuring live music.
In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, the event featured European artists from Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden alongside American colleagues from Virginia, Minnesota, Alaska, New Mexico, Wyoming, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
